Global Variable
A variable that is accessible from anywhere in the program. (Usually declared at the beginning of the program).

Local Variable
A variable declared in a program block and accessible only within the program block.

Procedure
A routine that can be called as a statement not as part of an expression. It may or may not return a value.

Function
A routine that is called as part of an expression and returns a value.

Parameter
Placeholders for variables passed as input to a function or procedure at call time.
